Fashion Designer (Remote)

Elkaiva is seeking a Fashion Designer who has a deep understanding of fabrics and patterns and can bring creative ideas to life with precision. You will work directly with clients and our production partners to translate concepts into sketches, patterns, and production-ready garments that meet luxury standards.

What you will do

Design collections with a strong command of fabric behavior, including drape, stretch, weight, and construction

Select textiles suited to each silhouette and season while balancing quality, comfort, and cost

Create accurate patterns and digital files, including grading across sizes and seam allowances

Develop detailed tech packs with measurements, tolerances, stitching, trims, and care instructions

Review lab dips, strike offs, and samples and provide clear fit and finish corrections

Ensure marker efficiency and identify risks such as shrinkage or colorfastness before production

Collaborate with illustrators, strategists, and the production team to move from idea to approved sample to bulk

What you bring

Proven experience designing womenswear or unisex apparel from sketch to production

Expertise in pattern making and grading with the ability to quickly resolve fit issues

Knowledge of a wide range of fabrics including crepe, twill, satin, jersey, canvas, and wool blends, with strong insight into weave and knit differences

Attention to measurements, tolerances, and consistent quality checks throughout the design process

Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator and Google Docs

Hands-on experience with 3D garment design tools such as CLO3D, Browzwear, or similar software

Nice to have

Experience with additional 3D platforms such as Optitex, Marvelous Designer, or TUKA3D

Background in luxury or high-end fashion collections

Familiarity with sustainability practices in fabric sourcing and production
